Hey K-reator!
Have you ever taken part in a sale? Have you ever been one of those people who buy items from a particular vendor because they are on sale?
Aside from the usual frenzy that occurs at those times, I observed that the vendors promote this sale by telling their customers that they will pay less. I've always wondered why most vendors don't say "you can avoid losing 5000 Naira and save it by participating in our discount sales" instead of telling the customer to pay 5000 Naira less than usual to get more. After several readings, I realised that as humans, we prefer positive messaging to negative messaging. Telling you to pay less means you get more value for your money. While asking you to save more means you risk losing money, you are advised to save it by taking advantage of the discount. Nobody wants to be reminded of the possibility of financial loss.
This means that simply providing a discount isn't enough; understanding how to properly market the discount is the real game changer. Everyone wants to spend less to get more, which is why discounts, coupons, and sales exist. However, with every vendor running one mid-year to mid-day sales daily, how do you ensure yours stands out and gets the attention you seek?
Creating a sale that sells
For a sale to be successful, it must make sense to the customer. There is a good chance that your customers believe the sale is because you are trying to push out low-quality products. This also corresponds to setting a goal for your sales rather than randomly creating discount sales for the sake of it.
In as much as it is aimed at both old and new customers, creating discounts tailored to each segment of your customer base will provide more value. Customers who live nearby, for example, may not mind paying for delivery costs and instead value product discounts. If a certain segment of your customers lives a long distance away, a free shipping discount will be greatly appreciated.

Another important factor to consider when creating a discount sale is timing, because timing equates to the sale's relevance. If you are making sales when the majority of your customers are not buying from you, the sale may not be a success. Pay attention to your sales patterns and try to schedule your discount sales during those times.
As I previously stated, paying attention to the words that appeal to your customers' minds will go a long way in marketing your sales, and you will be able to watch as they happily spend their money.
While providing these enticing discounts, keep in mind what you are giving away to avoid losing too much. Also, there is no one perfect way to run a sale, so be willing to try new things. Discount sale is an excellent way to increase sales and attract new customers. We understand how important this is to creative business owners, which is why our discount code feature is now available for use.
Remember to run your business with an open mind, sense, and lots of love.
