Hey K-reator!
Have you paid attention to the calendar recently?
I was working at random and took a look at the calendar; I noticed how far we've come this year and how we're only two months away from the end of 2022. This year has flown by since it seems like it was just yesterday that the year began. I was about to ask how far you've gotten with your 2022 resolutions, but I choose peace today 😂.
As the year comes to a close, one thing we can all agree on is the variety of deals that will take place. There will undoubtedly be several sales, ranging from discount sales to promotional sales. As creative business owners, we are all the main perpetrators of these sales since we provide discounts on our services or sell at a reduced price. Selling over this period is not the issue; the issue is that you do not make these holidays enjoyable for yourself. After celebrating Christmas and the end of the year, there is a new year in a few days and Valentine's Day in a few weeks. The cycle is never-ending.
As a creative business owner, how can you make the holidays enjoyable?
There are several reasons you get caught up in the business frenzy that occurs around this time and neglect to take the vacation you have been longing for. Some of these reasons may be unintentional, while others are deliberate (speaking to those that want to make the whole money in Africa 🙄).
Year after year, the unintentional ones who find themselves in this predicament moan about how it wasn't planned. They wind up in the same loop, despite vowing that it would not happen again. One thing to keep in mind is that you can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results.
This is for you 😍

There are three ways you can break out of this loop this year and enjoy your holiday as a creative business owner.
Plan or earlier
You should not wait until the beginning of December to find out what products or services will be on sale. You may print fliers ahead of time and begin your promotion early. Another approach to organising ahead of time is to set a limit for the number of people you will be attending, the number of products for sale, and the number of gigs you can manage. Creating these boundaries is one step that should be followed by a set of deadlines. Sales will end in the second week of December is not certain, but dates like December 10, 2022, give a sense of urgency to your clients.
Don’t bend your rules
Some creative business entrepreneurs prepare ahead of time, but then sabotage their efforts by going past the deadline. "Due to great demand, we have decided to extend it by one week," you will hear. Because you did not plan this unexpected extension, you will be easily overwhelmed. So, when you establish these plans, try not to modify them; instead, provide a discount to people who are willing to make their purchases after your vacations; this is one method to benefit from both ends.
Follow the first two ideas.
This idea is straightforward; keep to the main things I mentioned previously. Holidays exist for a reason; you don't want to be stressed out every day. Plan a proper vacation for yourself this year and take it. Sales will end, but humans will continue to exist (this sounds better in Yoruba🥲).
So, start creating those end-of-year plans today and try to have as much fun as possible because you deserve it.
Love, light and laughter!

Philo🧡
